Fish aren’t stressed, physically
injured and/or killed by toxic levels of ammonia or nitrite.
You won’t have to find a home for
those “hardy” fish that you used to cycle the tank but
which you don’t want to keep.
Pure ammonia is cheaper than treating sick
fish or replacing dead ones.
Fishless cycling is usually faster than
conventional cycling with fish, that is, 2-3 weeks vs. 3-5 weeks.
You can add larger amounts of fish than
you could have initially cycled the tank with. The full stocking load
of a tank can be added at the end of fishless cycling.
This is an easy fishless way to keep a
quarantine/hospital tank maintained and ready for use.
