Howdy and welcome to ya'! Flippers ‘n’ Fins is an on-line community of aquatic frog and fishkeepers, whose common goal is to share knowledge and experience in the hobby, while having fun doing so!

I’m Barb…physician by day and fish/frog lover by night! I live in the ever-entertaining city of Los Angeles, California and am a transplant from Ohio. My critters include 2 german shepherds, 3 cats (2 are mixed wild/domestic breeds), bettas (splendens and imbellis), African Dwarf Frogs and a 75-gal tank with various rainbowfish and a lovely school of rummy-nose tetras. My interest within the hobby is fish disease and I get a thrill out of diagnosing, treating and curing fish illnesses as well as managing emergency fish situations… an ER fish Doc of sorts! Outside of the hobby, I am passionate about playing the drums!

& I’m todley, (a female version of the name)... I’m owned by the 4 African Dwarf Frog residents of Frog Hollow & their tads as well as a few bettas that wiggle danced their way into my heart. Oh yeah, I have a 15 g. Eclipse with a school of neons and share 2 beautiful cats with a friend too. I reside on the West Coast of Canada in the sun and rains of British Columbia where I can garden most of the year.

I've learned two major things about this hobby:
- The more you learn, the more there is to learn, and
- There are never enough tanks in my place.

We're glad that you found us!  Enjoy the site and be sure to check out our Message Board and our moderators...

I'm Virgil. I live in Central Saskatchewan Canada. I've been keeping and breeding tropical fish off and on for about 15 years. I'm currently maintaining 16 (soon to be 19) aquariums in a small fish room. I am most interested in keeping and breeding Characins and Cories, though I often dabble with other species to keep things interesting. Thus far, I have successfully bred and raised 40 different species of fish. Some of my future goals are to breed and raise Cardinal Tetras and Harlequin Rasboras, which are proving to be quite a challenge.

My name is Helle. I am an animal lover and own a lot of them! I am a mommy to: a male betta, a chunky all black cat, 5 african dwarf frogs, 2 oscars, 2 leopard geckos and a dog named Joon, who is a bulldog/german shepherd mix! UUHhmmmm, oh and a husband, lol! I work in the medical field in Pediatrics and love all the children! I have my own baby on the way in October, so then we will have a full house! I love music, art and gardening. I am learning how to play bass guitar but am taking a small break due to the BIG belly right now! Lol! Welcome to Flippers ‘n’ Fins and feel free to make this your home away from home like all of us!!

Hey there! I'm Aquila (aka Ash). I'm a future pathologist with a passion for fish. Currently, my location is South Western Saskatchewan (Canada!). I'm a bettaholic, and yes, I do have that certified on paper! You can also find me chillin' in the deep end with the goldfish. I am interested in all areas of aquaria, especially freshwater, and undoubtedly my tanks will grow exponentially. Currently, I have 12 bettas and 1 growing oranda, along with some four-legged fuzzy animals that roam the house. I've been thinking about putting a koi pond in my office. Trust me, after all the water changes are done, it looks quite plausible. So, if you happen to see someone with soaked pant cuffs (that's probably a bit of an understatement), flailing her arms and screaming at the heavens incoherently... just smile, wave, and keep going! Nice to meet you and see you around the board! Best wishes to you and your fish!

I'm Kim (aka Special Zipper). I live in Michigan where betting on the weather is never a sure thing! I have 5 aquariums, ranging from 3 to 50 gallons. I keep a variety of aquatic life including goldfish, bettas, gouramis, African Dwarf Frogs, tetras, barbs, danios, loaches, Ghost Shrimp and Apple Snails. I'd love to get more, but Mom has put a restriction on anything, that requires food or water, from coming into the house!

I also have one beagle, a cockatiel and two horses. I am proud to have won High Point Champion twice and blue ribbons for my poetry and acrylic paintings in my county! I have had 2 poems published in Poetry Anthologies. I am a junior at the University of Michigan – Flint and I am working towards a double major in philosophy and English, with possibly a minor in Spanish or studio art. I also enjoy reading, writing, painting and drawing. Despite all my hobbies, I always have time to help others with problems, fish or otherwise; or even just to talk!

Hi! I'm puffergurl (aka Malli) I live on the wet-west coast of Canada, in British Columbia. I like music, drawing (when I have time!), computers, the outdoors, plants, animals, photography.... hmm... that’s about all I can think of for now, oh! and fish! I like them too. ;)

I'm owned by an American Pit Bull Terrier, "Oscar", and my tropical fish, which live in three tanks and four bowls, and my truly awesome boyfriend. I currently keep (aquatically speaking) a 20 gallon tank with a clown plecostamus, a 20 gallon tank with two Tsipoy Cichlids and a Pictus cat fish, a 45 gallon Brackish Aquarium with 3 Green Spotted Puffers (Skittles being my largest and my "mascot" of sorts) and a school of Sailfin Mollies, 3 Betta Boys and one Betta Girl in bowls.

I work at Pet Store so I've got an awesome chance to learn about many types of fish without actually having the space to keep them all! See you on the board!

I'm Chelle. I live in a tiny little town in the middle of Missouri! I currently have 4 tanks: two 10 gallon community tanks (one of which houses Mr. & Mrs. Froggy), a 55 gallon Malawi Cichlid tank and a 75 gallon Oscar tank. The tanks also double as entertainment for my 4 cats and 1 dog. ;)

When I'm not sitting around the house watching my crazy fish, I enjoy swing dancing, restoring my ‘67 Mustang (one of these days I might even be able to drive it!), playing bass clarinet in the local community band, drawing and photography.

Welcome to Flippers 'n' Fins! My name is Sarah. I live in the beautiful state of Colorado with my two sons. I am owned by 21 African Dwarf Frogs, 4 Bettas, 6 Zebra Danios, 3 Otos, 3 Hermit Crabs, 1 very old cat (Skeeter), 1 dog (Splash), and 2 rabbits (Sonic and Shadow). As you can imagine dinnertime is quite an event! In my spare time (do I have spare time?! LOL ), I enjoy reading, playing video games, working in the yard and garden, and watching movies with my boys. I'm glad you found us so come on in and kick your shoes off and I'll see you around the board!

Hi everyone and welcome! My name is Joan, aka JB, and I am an east coaster (USA that is!). I am the proud human of 2 mini schnauzers, 1 conure (small parrot), 1 betta, 5 ADFs, 5 ACFs, and a bunch of tadpoles!

When I'm not home cleaning cages and tanks, I'm teaching third-, forth-, and fifth-graders that reading is truly fun! When life lets me, I enjoy cooking, cross-stitching, scrapbooking and other crafts. I love to travel, especially to faraway beaches.

My name is Mike, but please call me Cy. I live in SW Michigan, and I recently graduated from college with a degree in computer networking. I enjoy saltwater fish, and watching as a single coral polyp grows into a beautiful colony. Being a college student, I have been known to be quite resourceful and love DIY projects. Along with my Reef, I also have an 8 year old dachshund, and a 4 year old half siamese kitty that I raised from one week old. When not in front of a computer or my tank, I can be found racing vintage autos, mountain biking, hanging out at the beach, or doing my best William Hung impression at the kareoke bar!

I'm Luke. I live here in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. My main interest in fish are with goldfish, so you may see me a lot on the goldfish board, but I love all types of fish and animals. Besides my goldfish, I have a betta, an african dwarf frog, some endlers livebearers, and even a hamster. I don't have many specific interests besides fish, but I am still young and that will change I'm sure. Anyway, I hope to talk with you all on the board in the near future.
